Deep Sea Changes

This series of sculptural installations was completed during my time at university. I experimented with manipulating plastic to create undersea environments. I was inspired to make these works after working at several food service jobs. I found it difficult to comprehend the amount of waste that was made just in my own experience, let alone the entire planet. I started collecting plastic from work and used this as materials for the scupltures. The large installation you see just below was the biggest and last installment. In the room I also played the naturally melancholic sounds of whales which added to the atmosphere.
